Italian courses in Sydney Italia 500 Italian
Do you work in Sydney's CBD and have a regular, relatively undisturbed, lunch time break? Why not spend one of these learning or practicing your Italian, with us at the Centre, at 280 Pitt Street, whilst you munch on your lunch and sip a coffee (we have a lovely espresso machine!) in a friendly, convivial, richly Italian environment, by joining our lunch hour Italian courses? Consisting of one 50 minute class per week, for a total of 6 weeks (5 hours tuition), these come at 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate, advanced, and like our standard courses, will include a lot of conversation, a lot of laughs, a healthy dose of grammar, and, in particular at the intermediate & advanced levels, snippets from Italian movies or documentaries, Instagram videos, songs, newspaper articles, cooking recipes, to make things truly interesting, to boost your Italian, and to make your Italian lunch hour course, the highlight of your lunch time week!

In class Italian lunch hour course One 50 minute class per week, for 6 consecutive weeks (5 hours tuition in total): Beginner: • Tuesday 10 February 2026 (12.40pm - 1.30pm) - ending 17/3 This course assumes no knowledge of Italian (alas, months of Duolingo don't count) however, if you speak or you've formally learnt a second language, in particular a Romance language, this definitely does count so please do contact us before enrolling. Also, please bear in mind that this five hour course is not a condensed version of our standard 8 week Beginner 1 course consisting of 18 hours face-to-face tuition. So, if we have the numbers, in order to reach the 18 hours, we will follow the above course with further lunch hour courses. Intermediate: • Wednesday 11 February 2026 (12.40pm - 1.30pm) - ending 18/3 Alas, "intermediate" can mean all sorts of things! We've had people who spoke wonderful Italian call us and describe themselves as "intermediate". If you can talk but it's not quite flowing yet and often interrupted by the search for the right word, or you struggle to form the right tense, this is the appropriate level for you and, to be honest, our favourite one! Alas, we know it's a pain, but there is no "enrol now" option for this course as you will need to contact us prior. Also, please note that this course is not a copy or a condensed version of our 8 week Intermediate courses - even the material we use in class is different -so, if you are currently enrolled in an Intermediate course but you would like some extra lunch hour practice, do join! |
Advanced: • Thursday 12 February 2026 (12.40pm - 1.30pm) - ending 19/3 If there are words and expressions you don't know or remember, and your "periodo ipotetico" is still hypothetical at times - as it is for Italians sometimes too! - but your Italian flows quite well and, even though you do want to improve, you also want to retain and practise what you do know, this is the level for you. Alas, we realise it's a pain, but there is no "enrol now" option for this course and you will need to contact us prior. Also, please note that this course is not a copy or a condensed version of our 8 week advanced level courses so, if you are currently enrolled in an advanced level course but you would like some extra lunch hour practice, do join us! Where are the classes held?
Our Italian classes are held at Italia 500 which is located in the Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts building at 280 Pitt Street, Lower Ground, Suite A, in the very heart of Sydney's CBD, less than two minutes' walk from Sydney Town Hall, between The Walrus & La Famiglia cafés and opposite Cupcakes on Pitt! (View our location on Google Maps). Buses and metered parking (from 6pm) are all within short distance. If you are driving in, it is probably more convenient to park in a parking station. To find which is the cheapest parking station nearby, visit Parkopedia, insert in the "Where are you going?" field, "280 Pitt Street, Sydney", and the appropriate time range. Our office hours are generally 9.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, and 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday, however, if you are planning to drop by, please contact us well ahead.
