The Beginner 2 course is for those who have completed the Beginner 1 course at Italia 500 or have completed a beginner level course or beginner level courses elsewhere. In the Beginner 2 course - and don't let the grammatical terminology put you off - we continue to work on the presente indicativo by talking about our travel plans, we study il passato prossimo in detail and we touch upon the imperfetto by describing how we spent the day in Firenze, we study the verb piacere - and thus we start to examine the indirect object pronouns, we learn how to ask for information regarding public transport and opening and closing times for museums and shops. Here are the more practical details:

Ten week Italian Beginner 2 courses:

  • Comprising of one 2.5 hour class per week, for ten weeks (25 hours tuition).
  • Cost: $280 per person. However, if you are joining with your partner or a friend, or a group of friends, the cost is $260 per person. The fee includes all course notes, use of Italia 500 "practice" CDs for the course, and GST.
  • Approximately 14 students per class.
  • Starting date or dates for the next Beginner 2 courses:

          Evening (2012)

          Tuesday 17 April (6.15pm - 8.45pm)

          Daytime (2012)

          Saturday 21 April (11.00am - 1.30pm)

Further Beginner 2 course details:CavalierServente

  • Each class includes a 10 minute coffee break. 
  • There are 6 Italia 500 "Practice" CDs for the Beginner 2 course. These must be regularly returned and not copied. If you wish to purchase the CDs the price is $10.00 per CD.
  • You'll need to dedicate approximately 2 to 3 hours per week outside of class time to your course, mostly to listen to the Italia 500 "Practice" CDs. Of course you are not expected to find time for one long three hour study session. Ten minutes here, twenty there is perfect.  
  • The classes are held at our Italia 500 office which is located in Porter House, at Level 2, 203 Castlereagh Street in the city, between Park & Bathurst Streets (for a location map click here).
